A British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer died in March after a cosmetic penis enlargement procedure in Thailand caused a fatal pulmonary embolism, a UK coroner ruled this week, according to findings presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners' Court and reported by TMZ.
Igho Ubiribo, known online as "Tiny," "Denisi" and "Ego," was 43. He was on a trip to Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, when he underwent the procedure at an unnamed clinic in March, receiving an injection of 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, per evidence cited at the inquest.
Following the treatment, the couple went for a massage at their Bangkok hotel, during which Ubiribo complained of chest pain and lost consciousness twice, according to the inquest testimony. He was taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially able to respond to medical staff. His wife told doctors he had recently had the filler injections, the inquest heard.
Doctors suspected a pulmonary embolism and recommended a CT scan, but Ubiribo lost consciousness again before it could be performed, according to the reporting. He was moved to intensive care, where medical staff performed CPR for more than 100 minutes. He was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 6.
Coroner Jean Harkin ruled that Ubiribo died of a pulmonary embolism caused by the cosmetic procedure, according to TMZ and other outlets citing the inquest. A UK postmortem reportedly found cellular material in his lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the injection.
Ubiribo, who documented a luxury lifestyle online, was buried in London in May. Mourners at the funeral reportedly included Nigerian musician Davido, according to TMZ's report
