Emirates and Air Peace Signed Major Global Air Connectivity Agreement.
Nigeria News
In a major advancement for African aviation, Emirates Airlines and Air Peace Limited have activated a global bilateral interline agreement aimed at significantly expanding air connectivity between West Africa, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and key international destinations including the United Kingdom.
Under this enhanced partnership, travellers can now book single-ticket journeys with through-checked baggage across flights operated by both carriers. This makes travel smoother and more convenient for passengers throughout Africa and beyond.
What the Deal Means
The expanded agreement builds on the existing relationship between the world’s largest international carrier, Emirates, and West Africa’s biggest airline, Air Peace. Together, they are now enabling more seamless travel across continents by connecting regional African airports directly to Emirates’ global hub in Dubai as well as key destinations in Europe.
Some of the major improvements include:
Single-ticket travel across combined networks meaning travellers book once and fly with both airlines on one itinerary.
Through-checked baggage, so luggage goes straight to the final destination without re-checking at intermediate stops.
Expanded connectivity to important destinations like London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted, along with Emirates’ hub in Dubai.
Expanded Network Reach
Previously, Emirates passengers could already access 13 Nigerian cities via Air Peace’s network. The new agreement goes further by enabling connections to other West African capitals such as:
Banjul, The Gambia (via Abidjan)
Dakar, Senegal (via Abidjan)
Freetown, Sierra Leone (via Accra)
Monrovia, Liberia (via Accra)
This expansion creates more travel options for tourists, business travellers, and international visitors wishing to explore multiple destinations across Africa through a single, streamlined booking process.
What Airline Leaders Are Saying
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, described the partnership as a key strategic move to extend the airline’s footprint across Africa.
“Enhancing our interline partnership with Air Peace allows us to expand our presence across more of Africa and gives travellers new opportunities to fly better with Emirates, while supporting tourism and trade in the region.”
Meanwhile, Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer at Air Peace, said the deal is a “major step” in the airline’s vision to connect Africa more efficiently to the rest of the world.
“By combining our strong regional presence with Emirates’ extensive international route network, we are delivering seamless connectivity, improved travel experiences, and greater access to major global markets for African travellers.”
What It Means for African Travellers
Passengers across West and Central Africa will benefit from:
More flight choices and destinations
Easier travel planning with more seamless connections
Increased access to global hubs like Dubai and multiple UK cities
Better opportunities for tourism, business travel, and economic linkages
This partnership is expected to strengthen Africa’s role in global aviation and boost the continent’s accessibility for travellers around the world.
